How to Get Rid of Feminine Itching With These Natural Remedies

by Paula

Are you ashamed to consult your gynecologist for your feminine itching?

I know many of us are terrified of hospitals, but this is a health issue which causes not only discomfort, but other serious complications if you don't care for it properly.

I remember one time I had some real pain from feminine itching myself. All the hygiene measures didn't stop it.

As a coincidence or not, I overheard some neighbors talking about having vaginal itching too. They didn't visit a gynecologist and they too needed an advice.

Finally, I told my mother-in-law what happened and she helped me with some herbal recipes for vaginal itching.

Don't be ashamed to discuss these problems with your friends or family, even it seems more intimate. They could help you with an advice, although it shouldn't replace a visit to a doctor.

The causes for feminine itching range from yeast infections, bacterial infections, STDs, urinary tract infections or clothes to stress. There are a lot of "intruders" which can cause itching, starting with Candida Albicans and ending with Herpes.

Only a gynecologist can give you an exact diagnostic after a checkup and a lab test. Make a visit to your physician if you experience vaginal pain, vaginal itching, vaginal burning, a foul odor from your vagina or painful urination.

Also ask your doctor if you can use home remedies for itching. Some will recommend natural or herbal remedies along with allopathic treatment, but there are others who don't agree.

How to make a safe and natural feminine wash to get rid of feminine itching

  • Make a chamomile infusion from 2 tablespoons of chamomile flowers in 1 cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 15 minutes, then strain and let it cool to body temperature.
  • Pour the warm tea (body temperature) in a vaginal douche syringe and wash the vagina.

Mix the chamomile infusion with organic apple cyder vinegar for a stronger effect.

Use vaginal douches with caution, only if your doctor recommends it.

Marigold

Use Marigold both internally as tea and externally in sitz baths or local washes. Also, you can put Marigold cream on the itching area.

Make a tea from 4 tablespoons of Marigold in 1 liter / 34 oz water and sweeten it with honey if necessary. Drink 1/3 of a cup before each main meal.

Wormwood

Don't worry about the bitterness. You don't need to drink Wormwood tea, but use it as a feminine wash for vaginal itch.

Boil 4 tablespoons of wormwood in 1 l / 34 oz water for 5 minutes. Strain, then let it cool at body temperature. Take local wash for 2 weeks.

Besides relieving the itching and burning, wormwood vaginal washes help restore the flora and reduce abnormal secretions.

Yarrow

Take Yarrow sitz baths and do vaginal douches for vaginal itching and for cervical erosion. Yarrow acts against infections and has an excellent anti-inflammatory and healing effect.

For sitz baths, make a concentrated infusion with 3-4 teaspoons of Yarrow to 1 cup water. Use the same recipe as above for vaginal douches. Keep the infusion inside for 10 minutes. Follow the treatment daily for 2 weeks.

You can do vaginal douches for feminine itching with other useful herbal remedies such as: Sage, Nettle, Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), Slippery elm (Ulmus fulva). Slippery elm infusion has calming properties, while bearberry leaf douches have disinfectant and astringent effects.

Here is a quick remedy for feminine itching caused by increased acidity

One cause of vaginal itching is the increased amount of lactobacilli which increase the vagina's acidity. A popular method of getting rapid relief is to use a vaginal douche or sitz bath containing sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).

"If you experience recurrent symptoms you should take baking soda douches or Sitz baths 24 to 48 hours before the anticipated onset of symptoms. A sitz bath is preferred since douching may introduce pathogens into the upper reproductive tract and increase the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and ectopic pregnancy (Hatch et al., 1994)."

The best cure for the infections which cause feminine itching is your own immune system

To boost your immune system, drink a cup of Thyme or Echinacea tea. These herbs have the capacity to increase your resistance to infections. You can also use them in tincture form. Add a few drops of tincture in a half cup of water.
