Hello,
I am writing from Australia and would like to know if eating dandelion leaves regularly will improve my liver function. I would like to know how many one would need to eat daily and how long for.
I hope you can help,
Kind Regards,

Marius's ReplyHello Ann,
It is quite interesting to know that
Dandelion has been used as a
natural liver cleanse, for stomach diseases and as a blood purifier for more than a thousand years.
The famous Persian physician Avicenna (980 – 1037) writes about the liver healing properties of Dandelion in the “The book of Healing”.
There are a few treatment choices you can take:
Maria Treben, the famous Austrian herbalist, says that "fresh stems of the flower, five to six pieces, chewed daily bring swift relief in chronic inflammation of the liver". Follow this treatment for 2-4 weeks.
Another treatment you can try is to eat ten fresh leaves of Dandelion, for 14 days, 2-3 times per day, 10 minutes before main meals. Gather the leaves the same day or maximum 2 days before eating from plants that hadn’t blossomed.
If you can’t get fresh Dandelion, you can make an infusion from 2 teaspoons of dried herb in 1 cup of boiled water. Let it steep for 10-15 minutes and strain. Drink 2-3 cups of tea per day, after the main meals, for 4-6 weeks.
I hope you get well soon!
If you try any of these treatments or other herbal remedies, please come by and tell us if they worked or not.
